Housing Services Program

The Housing Services Program is made up of:

· Case Management Services

· No-interest Loans

· Permanent Housing

The Housing Services Programs are geared for long term changes to the households served. They are not emergency based; in that a loan can not be done in a day and housing can not be obtained without the client having the necessary funds to pay the monthly expenses. For emergency shelter needs please contact the Hebron House Shelter at 262-549-8722.

The main goal of the Housing Services Program is to assist households in a housing crisis to locate and obtain permanent affordable housing or to keep them in their current housing in an effort to prevent homelessness. The Housing Services Program is made up of Case Management Services and No-Interest Loans.

The Housing Services Program provides help to low and middle income residents currently residing in, or moving to, Waukesha County. The program provides information and referral about various services available to clients; a no-interest loan for security deposit or rent assistance to those who qualify as well as emotional support to clients on their way to becoming self-sufficient.

The Loan has been in place since 1986 and the Case Management services since 1991. Persons seeking services initially fill out an application for the assistance they require: loan services, or case management services. The applicant is then interviewed by the program specific staff that evaluates the applicant’s current budget status and discusses any financial limitations they may have in relation to the help they are seeking. All special circumstances, especially those of any legal or emergency basis, are taken into consideration as to what service or in what order the services would be delivered.

An education component is incorporated in each of the Housing Services Programs, which minimally includes budget counseling. The Housing Services Program and its components respond to the mission of Hebron House of Hospitality, Inc. which is to find solutions to end homelessness and to interrupt the cycle of homelessness and poverty whenever possible.
